Stripling’s Vidalia Onion Smoky Bacon Dressing meshes an ample “daily dosage” of fresh sweet Vidalia onions with a succulent bacon flavor. It’s always great for salads or other meatless dishes where you want the essence of meat, such as in this recipe (see below) for Mozzarella-Tomato Appetizer.
- 4 large red tomatoes, sliced
- 4 large yellow tomatoes, sliced
- 1 lb. fresh mozzarella cheese
- 2/3 c. fresh basil, shredded
- 1/4 c. pine nuts
- 1/2 tsp. black or rep pepper
- Stripling's Vidalia Onion Smoky Bacon Dressing*
Remove cheese from packaging and discard any brine; cut cheese into 1/4 inch slices. Arrange tomatoes and cheese slices on serving tray so that colors are alternated. Sprinkle basil, pines nuts, and pepper atop. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, covered. When ready to serve, remove tray from refrigerator, uncover, and drizzle Stripling's Vidalia Onion Smoky Bacon Dressing liberally across tomatoes and cheese. *1 (12 ounce) bottle of Stripling's Vidalia Onion Smoky Bacon Dressing will meet the recipe requirement and leave a hearty amount remaining for other uses!
