Stripling's Pork Sausage Seasoning gives a meaty taste and is similar to using bullion or meat stock, so besides its obvious function (with sausage), it's a great way to imbibe vegetables with a heartiness and ebullience. In this recipe (below), Savoy cabbage was chosen because it is milder in flavor than common green and red cabbage.
Sautéed Savoy Cabbage
- 1 large full head Savoy cabbage, washed and chopped
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1 medium onion, sliced in thick wedges
- 1/2 tsp. Stripling's Pork Sausage Seasoning*
Directions:
In large sauté pan, melt butter and pour in olive oil. On medium high heat, sauté onions first, then add in cabbage, stirring often to avoid burning. While cooking, sprinkle in Stripling's Pork Sausage Seasoning and make sure evenly distributed. Remove pan from heat at just the point when cabbage begins to get tender but still retains some crispiness. *1 large container of Stripling's Pork Sausage Seasoning will meet the recipe requirement and leave a hearty amount remaining for other uses!
