Apparently, there are individuals who admire simple, cold tomato sandwiches in the summertime. For them, a garden tomato, mayo, and basic bread slices are more than enough. Others of us, however, like that general premise but feel the need to wrench things up a notch. So Stripling's politely pushes aside plain ole mayonnaise with our Vidalia Onion Creamy Ranch Dressing, using it as a sandwich spread. The recipe (below) walks you through the other techniques and assumes that you'll have a lighted grill nearby.
Grilled Tomato Sandwiches
- 10 (3/4 inch thick) slices of tomato
- 12 robust slices of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 (12 oz.) bottle Stripling's Vidalia Onion Creamy Ranch Dressing*
- Dash of pepper
Directions:
Baste the tomato slices with red wine vinegar and cook on grill until desired consistency. Use dressing as a sandwich spread for sourdough bread. Place tomatoes accordingly, sprinkle with pepper, and eat while hot. *1 (12 ounce) bottle of Stripling's Vidalia Onion Creamy Ranch Dressing will meet the recipe requirement and leave a nice amount remaining for other uses!
