We've found a terrific new pairing for Stripling's Blackberry Walnut Dressing: as the mainstay and escort for anything which has to do with bleu cheese. As all of us know, bleu cheese can be a bit strong except for the most adoring cheese connoisseurs. Bleu cheese has a distinct, pungent aroma because it's been injected with actual penicillin cultures, which give it the resulting blue colored 'veins' throughout. Food gourmands always list fruit as a good match-up for bleu cheese. So our Blackberry Walnut Dressing stands up well in this recipe (below) which incorporates additional fruits such as fig and pear.
Fig, Pear & Bleu Cheese Salad
- 2 c. Bibb lettuce (also known as Butterhead)
- 2 c. Boston lettuce
- 1/2 c. fresh figs, quartered
- 1 c. pears, cut into crescents or chunks
- 3 Tbsp. crumbled bleu cheese*
- 1 (12 oz. )bottle Stripling's Blackberry Walnut Dressing**
Directions:
Wash, drain, and hand-tear lettuce. Toss lettuce, fruit, and cheese in bowl. Place portions on serving plates. Drizzle Stripling's Blackberry Walnut Dressing generously over top of each, without over-saturating. *If bleu cheese is too strong for you, feel free to substitute feta cheese. **1 (12 ounce) bottle of Stripling's Blackberry Walnut Dressing will meet the recipe requirement and leave a nice amount remaining for other uses!
