Somehow our immediate association for honey mustard goes straight to chicken fingers. But whereas most people purchase the ready-made chicken fingers at the deli or drive-thru – you know, the ones with the complimentary mustard that has a manufactured taste – we prefer to cook our own (see recipe below). We save time, however, and add spice by pairing our chicken fingers with Stripling's Jalapeno Honey Mustard. The deli or drive-thru will be yesterday's habit.
Golden Chicken Fingers
- 6 chicken breast halves, skinned and boned
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. sesame seeds
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- Canola oil or vegetable oil
- 1 (18 oz.) jar Stripling's Jalapeno Honey Mustard*
Directions:
Cut chicken into strips. In medium bowl, combine next 6 ingredients. Dip chicken strips into bowl and coat with batter. Fry in hot oil (375 degrees or higher) until meat is completely cooked and exterior crust is golden brown. Serve piping hot or allow to cool slightly. Use Stripling's Jalapeno Honey Mustard as the dipping sauce. *1 (18 ounce) jar of Stripling's Jalapeno Honey Mustard will meet the recipe requirement and leave a nice amount remaining for snacking or other uses! Additional Serving Suggestion: Add to potato salad and deviled eggs for a spicy addition
